Here are a few examples of what didn't work for sessions. Usually it is when clients don't match the colors, tones or wear patterns that are too loud. All of this makes the clothing too distracting and takes the focus away from the faces.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR

Remember the “go to” look of everyone in khakis & white button down shirts? That isn’t the kind of matching I’d like you to do. My do not wear list includes large contrasting patterns such as stripes or wild florals, bright flourescent colors, large logos on tshirts, big flower headbands, large watches, and worn out shoes. anything that is distrating to your faces is a no-no. Simplicity is key.

For families, please do not come with someone in black, someone in white, someone in a bright color, and someone in stripes. It will look very uncoordinated and messy. It is SO important that everyone be in a similar tone.

Please take time to find the right clothes. helpful tips think about the colors in the room where you will display the portrait and design your clothing choices around your room. is it soft & natural or bright and colorful? it is important to dress for your art. dress from head to toe. Don’t forget about your feet!
